Thane, Aug 15, 2025 : Navodaya English High School and Junior College celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with great pride and patriotic zeal. The campus wore a festive look, beautifully adorned with tricolour flags, flowers, and student-made posters reflecting the spirit of unity.
The ceremony began with the school captain warmly welcoming dignitaries and escorting them to their seats. Following a welcome address, Shri Dayanand Shetty, President of Navodaya Kannada Sanga and Chairman of the institution, ceremoniously hoisted the National Flag. The gathering then enthusiastically sang the National Anthem and Flag Song, embodying the spirit of national pride.
Students delivered stirring speeches in multiple languages, celebrating India’s linguistic and cultural diversity. Inspirational messages followed from Shri Shashidhar Shetty, Honorary General Secretary of Navodaya Kannada Seva Sanga and Administrator of the college, and Shri Dayanand Shetty, who both urged students to uphold values of responsibility and citizenship.
The cultural segment featured a kaleidoscope of performances, including a lively dance by Classes 3-5, a soulful patriotic song, and a thematic dance on “Development of India” by Classes 6-8. This was followed by a yoga demonstration by Classes 9-10, showcasing their discipline and skill. The grand finale, presented by college students, was a powerful portrayal of “Mission Sindoor,” highlighting women’s empowerment and India’s resilience.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks. The day left students inspired to work towards building a stronger nation, guided by Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless words: “The future depends on what you do today.”
