“Nothing could be more satisfying and heart-warming than to help a person live more.” These heartfelt words from the Management of Navodaya Kannada Seva Sangha perfectly captured the spirit of Navodaya’s 5th Annual Blood Donation Drive, held on 5th October 2025 at Navodaya English High School & Junior College, Thane.
The noble initiative was graced by Shri Dayanand Shetty, Honourable President of Navodaya Kannada Seva Sangha and Chairman of Navodaya English High School & Junior College, and Shri Shashidar Shetty, Honorary General Secretary and Administrator of the institution, under the expert guidance of Dr. Satyaprakash Shetty, President of the Association of Bunts Doctors.
Once announced, the drive received an overwhelming response. Parents, teachers, students, and local residents came forward with a shared purpose — to save lives through the gift of blood. The school campus, usually alive with academic and cultural activities, transformed into a hub of compassion and service.
Colourful posters, thought-provoking artwork, and a creative exhibition highlighted the importance of blood donation. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm, empathy, and the joy of giving.
The organizing team ensured that every donor had a comfortable and safe experience — from warm welcomes and hygienic medical setups to refreshments and thoughtful tokens of appreciation. A lucky draw with exciting prizes added an element of fun to the day’s humanitarian mission.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Latha Murali, Headmistress of the school, shared that “this initiative bridges education and humanity, inspiring students to become compassionate and responsible citizens.”
In collaboration with three leading blood banks, the drive turned out to be a tremendous success. A total of 1,285 donors registered, contributing 750 units of life-saving blood, which were later distributed to major hospitals and blood banks across Mumbai.
The event reaffirmed Navodaya’s commitment to service, empathy, and social responsibility. Each donor represented a heartbeat saved, a life renewed, and a future made brighter.
With immense gratitude to every volunteer, participant, and supporter, Navodaya Kannada Seva Sangha and Navodaya English High School & Junior College proudly celebrated this humanitarian milestone — proving that each drop donated truly creates a ripple of hope, humanity, and life.
