Counselling
Counselling are important for children. Schools have a huge role in bringing out the best in children.Through counselling, children are given advice on how to manage and deal with emotional conflict and personal problems.
Counselling sessions at an early age opens the lines of communication making children familiar with the importance of choosing the right career. A regular counselling session is about listening to the child and giving respective suggestions.
Navodaya English High School & Junior College provides counselling for emotional, behavioural and learning problems of the students of all grades individually.We deal with such students with love, care and concern and guide their parents regarding it. We also provide career guidance sessions for SSC & HSC students too.
Medical Check-up
Health Fiesta is a Mobile Health and Diet Clinic established in June 2010 in Mumbai. Navodaya English High School and Junior College in association with Health Fiesta Company endeavours to create awareness about health and its importance - Diagnosis health related concerns - Resolves all diet and nutrition related queries to the best of their abilities - Recommends a balanced diet plan for a healthier YOU!* The recommendations are based on the guidelines of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).The medical checkup is held for the students twice a year from Pre-Primary Section to Junior College Section.
MR Campaign
The Government of India has launched the Measles and Rubella Vaccination Campaign in 2017 with a view to provide measles-rubella (MR) vaccines to children between the age of nine months and under 15 years. Navodaya English High School & Junior College in association with GOI has undertaken the campaign successfully in all the sections.
Polio
The National Polio Immunisation drive was held in Navodaya English High School and Junior College a couple of times to ensure that all the students below the age of 5 years are provided with the pulse polio dose.
Yoga Sessions
Since its inception in the year 2015, June 21st is celebrated as The International Day of Yoga all over the world. “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being.
International Yoga Day is celebrated every year by the students and teachers at Navodaya English High School & Junior College with great enthusiasm. Students from different section demonstrate various asanas followed by Omkar chanting. Warm up exercises are also taken and all the students perform sitting and standing asanas, importance of these are explained simultaneously.Regular practice of yoga will surely help our students achieve a better life, physically, mentally and spiritually as well.
SCHOOL CLUBS
Language Club
The language clubs of our school aims at developing the analytical and critical thinking of the students. These clubs serve as a platform to blend creativity with facts that make the learning experience truly dynamic and factual. Enthusiastic participation in the co-curricular activities will help students expand their horizons and learn beyond the classroom curriculum. These language clubs develop skills in dramatics, public speaking, debate, Quizzing, creative writing, and elocution. The various language clubs in our school are English, Marathi, Hindi, Sanskrit and Kannada. Kannada Language Club provides the best opportunity for Tulu Kannada students to showcase their talents in various art, literary and stage events in their vernacular language.
